INDIANAPOLIS — In a collaboration between racing legend Jimmie Johnson and the car buying and selling company Carvana, Arsenal Technical High School will be receiving new equipment and funds following Sunday’s Brickyard 400 race.

On Sunday, Johnson will be competing in the race, but prior to doing so, students from Arsenal Tech HS will get the chance to meet him from a luxury suite. According to a press release, he and Carvana will provide the school with a donation that includes a new vehicle lift, tools, learning supplies and other methods of improving their learning environment.

Carvana also said they will donate a project vehicle from their wholesale inventory. This will allow students to work on and repair the car, learning and refining hands-on skills in the process. They can also submit the vehicle to a World of Wheels show next year.

“This contribution will not only provide our students with state-of-the-art tools and resources but also inspire them to pursue successful careers in the automotive industry,” said Jennifer Berry, CTE Pathway Director of Indianapolis Public Schools. “We are deeply grateful to Carvana [and Johnson] for their support and commitment to the future of our students.”
