    Man dead after shooting on near north side of Indianapolis

    INDIANAPOLIS — Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a shooting that took place on the near north side Sunday morning.

    IMPD said that officers were called to a residence in the 3000 block of Boulevard Place around 7:50 a.m. on a report of a person down. Upon arrival, police located an adult male in an alley with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

    The Marion County Coroner’s Office later identified him as 26-year-old Mahlique Abrams.

    A suspect has not been named at this time.
