“The Duel” is premiering in Indianapolis because much of the movie was shot in the Hoosier State. According to previous reporting , Indianapolis attractions like Midland Art and Antiques and The Inferno Room were featured in the film.

The scenes of the movie that required large bodies of water were shot on Lake Michigan in Michigan City. Asherwood, the former estate of Mel and Bren Simon in Carmel, also appears in the movie.

The movie was made by Pigasus Pictures, a film company based in Indiana. “The Duel” is Pigasus’ seventh film.

“It has been remarkable what Indy has allowed us to do in this state,” said Sprouse, who served as grand marshal for this year’s Indianapolis 500 . “We came out here to film four years ago originally, and ever since that point, Indianans are hospitable people in every single way. So honestly, I’m coming back here way more often. You’re going to be sick of me by the time I’m done.”

“The Duel” will be shown in more than 500 theaters across the county. The movie depicts a story about two friends who are in love with the same woman. The friends choose to quell their dispute with an 18th-century-style duel.

An afterparty was held at Newfields after Sunday night’s premiere.
