July 16, 2024 – The Decatur Family YMCA will host their annual Backpack Attack event on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. During the event, 2,000 school supply-filled backpacks will be handed out to students entering kindergarten through 6th grade. Students need to be present to pick out their backpacks.

A big congratulations to Champaign’s creamery Prairie Fruits Farm for winning in all four categories entered at American Cheese Society’s 2024 Annual Competition. Illinois Basketball guard, Kasparas Jakucionis, was featured on a recent All Big-Ten first team prediction done by Carter Elliott and Greg Elliott of the Sleeper’s Media podcast. Jakucionis was the only unanimous selection besides rising Junior guard, Braden Smith, of Purdue. After a soft launch two weeks prior, Champaign’s newest dispensary hosted a grand opening party last Friday with vendors and the Maize food truck.
