Taylor Swift is endorsing Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut “Blink Twice.”

The Grammy winner, who previously collaborated with Kravitz on songs “Lavender Haze” and “Karma,” took to her Instagram story to praise the thriller film.
“This film is incredible,” Swift wrote. “Thrilling, twisted, wickedly funny, and visually stunning. The performances are phenomenal. Zoë Kravitz conceptualized this, wrote it, obsessed over every detail, and directed it with such a clear and bold vision . I’m so blown away by what she’s accomplished here and I can’t wait to watch everyone discover this film and this brilliant filmmaker.”
Swift also shared the trigger warning for “Blink Twice” that Amazon had circulated on Twitter.
“Trigger warning: contains mature themes and depictions of violence, including sexual violence. This may be upsetting or triggering to some viewers,” Swift wrote.
“Blink Twice” stars Naomi Ackie as a cocktail waitress who travels to the private island of a tech billionaire (Channing Tatum) where the party seemingly never stops. However, the true intentions of the island’s inhabitants prove to be more sinister. Read the IndieWire review here .
Kravitz, who co-wrote the film and directed the feature, clarified her previous collaboration with Swift. She told Esquire in a cover story that while she was credited as a co-writer on Swift’s “Midnights” album, she did not actually write with the singer/songwriter.

Kravitz had actually written a song for herself and “elements of that song got used” by Swift, with their shared producer Jack Antonoff. Kravitz said that she did not expect a credit but that Swift is “very kind in that way.”
As for “Blink Twice,” Kravitz told the outlet that the film made her “feel like my brain is being exposed to the world.” And she just wants audiences to go in as blind as possible: “I felt like I should just be quiet and let people experience the movie,” Kravitz said. “I was hesitant to make it about me.”
Kravitz told IndieWire that she did not ever think of casting herself in the lead role.
“I actually serve this story better behind the camera,” Kravitz said. “I was very excited to make space for another incredible performer and support her. And then also, I don’t know how to explain it, but I feel like I’m in the movie. My experience is in the movie, it’s just in a different way. And I really wanted to tell this whole story and not just focus on one character.”
She added of co-lead star Tatum, “Chan’s an incredible businessman. He really understands the industry and the studio system and the way it works, and he knows so much about film and production. It’s really amazing actually, because I’ve just become the kind of actor that’s more involved in the productions that I’m in, so I’m new to all of this. […] Because we work in an industry where things often get watered down to make everybody comfortable. And he was always so focused on protecting the story.”
