If smelling like the early 1800s — before indoor plumbing — was just not for you, perhaps Netflix’s next hit-series-inspired scent will be. But also, probably not.

As part of Netflix’s ongoing partnership with Bath & Body Works, the streamer and the retailer have launched a “Stranger Things” collection . “Stranger Things” x Bath & Body Works boasts 15 limited-edition products — but we’re here to talk about three of them (two, really).
The first of the fragrances is “The Upside Down.” Because who would not want to smell like that barren, decrepit alternative universe overrun by vines, bats, and demons. Maybe don’t put this one in your guest bathroom.
The Upside Down scent has “notes of mossy stone, smokey birch tree, and eerie fog Fragrance.” The packaging, too, is inspired by the Hawkins woods. OK, so it’s earthy. It could still be better than the Michael Jordan Cologne — but what the hell does “eerie fog” smell like? The Upside Down is available as a 3-wick candle and candle holder combo, a single-wick candle, hand soap, PocketBac hand sanitizer, and Wallflowers Fragrance Refill.
Worse-sounding yet is “The Demogorgon.” Truly, who would want to smell like the Demogorgon, the OG baddie from the sci-fi series and who we are guessing is the poorest-smelling part of the Upside Down? No disrespect to Vecna.
What does the Demogorgon smell like, you ask? Well, the fragrance combines the scents of black orchid petals, spicy cedarwood, and dark patchouli. The flower thing makes sense when you consider the Demogorgon’s head design. This is is also available in a 3-wick candle and candle holder, a hand soap, a Wallflowers Fragrance Plug, and PocketBac Holder. No single-wick candle option is available — maybe the Demogorgon ate it.

Can we please cleanse our palate here with something that sounds not disgusting?
Perhaps we can interest you in “Eddie’s Leather Jacket,” which smells like black leather, soft musk, and smoked suede. Now we’re talking. Per Netflix, the fragrance is “inspired by the question ‘What does Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) smell like?'” Are we talking before or after he was mauled by Demobats?
Eddie’s Leather Jacket is available in a 3-wick candle and hand soap with a PocketBac holder. His signature scent could pair nicely with “Bridgerton” x Bath & Body Works signature fragrance “Diamond of the Season.”
The products launched yesterday (Thursday, August 22) and will be available while supplies last. They’re available in Bath & Body Works stores nationwide and online .
“Stranger Things” the series is entering its “while supplies last era” as well. The fifth and final season , beefed up by supersized episodes, comes out in 2025 . The IP will certainly live on — and not just at your local mall’s body-wash store. There is the “Stranger Things” play, now coming to Broadway , activations and other fan experiences (Netflix Houses coming soon!), and video games , to name just a few current uses. And there will definitely be more shows and/or movies; there is simply no way Netflix lets its biggest franchise go quietly into the Upside Down’s very, very bad night.
