    Over 1,000 homes and businesses lose power in Indio

    A power outage has impacted more than 1,000 properties in Indio on Thursday night as temperatures hover in the low triple digits.

    Imperial Irrigation District initially reported an outage on X, formerly known as Twitter, at around 4 p.m. At the time, 315 houses in the 47-500 block of Calle Diamante in Indio, were affected. Cal Fire responded to the scene, calling it an electrical hazard.

    By 7:32 p.m., IID announced it was experiencing fluctuating power outages in Indio, without specifying the affected areas.

    As of 8 p.m., 1,084 customers were without power, as IID had forced an outage for repairs, with an estimated restoration time of four hours.
