Funding awarded for two local road improvement projects
( KAIR)--A combined $26 million is awarded for 33 road improvement projects in Kansas communities, including two in the local area. According to a release from the office of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, the selected projects will receive a portion of the total funding through the Kansas Department of Transportation's City Connecting Link Improvement Program( CCLIP).

Free Fair begins on Sunday
The Geary County Free Fair opens on Sunday. The location for the Free Fair is at 1025 South Spring Valley Road on the west side of Junction City. Sunday the 21st activities will kick off with the Pedal Pull at 5 p.m. and the 4-H Horse Show at 6 p.m.
The Junction City Rodeo is this weekend
The 30th annual Junction City Rodeo is this Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20, at the Geary County 4-H Fairgrounds Arena. The rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m. on both nights. The theme for Friday night is 'Tough Enough to Wear Pink' and Saturday night's theme is 'Red, White and Blue.'

United Way of Junction City-Geary County is is hosting their 14th Annual Stuff the Bus drive. This event provides school supplies directly to the schools so that each child can start the year with everything that they need.
