Brad Miller played at Purdue from 1994-98, helping the Boilermakers post a 7-2 record over Indiana during his tenure.

He had dreams of attending IU, he said on the "All The Smoke" podcast with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes. Just one thing prevented him wearing cream and crimson.

"They didn't recruit me," Miller said. "I'm super glad I did not go down there."

The 1990s were in the thick of the Bob Knight vs. Gene Keady rivalry, and the programs often recruited the same players. But not Miller, and that annoyed him at the time.

"Not one (expletive) letter from IU," Miller said. "I had red and white up my (expletive) growing up; sweatshirts, different stuff.

"Everything's been a blessing in life. What you think you want isn't what you need in life. ... I did not need to go to IU."

He learned to hate IU in a hurry.

"I went 7-2 against them, won two Big Ten championships. They didn't win (expletive). They were lucky to get the two wins. They cheated the (expletive) out of the one.

"They literally had a guy in the student section with a laser pointer in my eye when I was shooting a free throw. ... Dirty bastards.

"They used to spit on our bus. I mean, Purdue-Indiana is a hell of a rivalry. It ain't like California love."

Miller played parts of two seasons with the Indiana Pacers, making the NBA Eastern Conference All-Stars in 2003. He was also a Western Conference All-Star with Sacramento in '04.
