Here's when IndyCar qualifying at St. Louis is on Peacock on 8/16/24

The IndyCar Series returns to its roots as it comes back from a long Olympic break. Four of the final five races this season are on short ovals. The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 (kilometer) is at World Wide Technology Raceway, a 1.25-mile oval in the St. Louis suburb of Madison, Illinois.

Team Penske appears to have a qualifying edge, given its results over the past year. Scott McLaughlin earned pole positions for the Indianapolis 500 and one of the two races at Iowa. (He won the other Iowa race.) Other strong qualifiers on ovals this year are McLaughlin's Penske teammates, Will Power and Josef Newgarden; Ganassi Racing's Alex Palou and Scott Dixon; and Colton Herta of Andretti Global.

McLaughlin earned pole position for this race last season, but he started 10th because of an excessive engine change. Dixon won last year's race. He had qualified seventh but started 16th for a penalty similar to McLaughlin's.

How IndyCar qualifying works at St. Louis

From IndyCar : A qualification attempt consists of two consecutively timed laps. The aggregate time is recorded as the official qualifying time for the car, with the fastest aggregate time earning the pole position. Qualifying order is determined by reverse order of entrant points entering the event. Every car is guaranteed one qualifying attempt.
