IHSAA football preview: Everything you need to know for 2024 season

    Schools listed in alphabetical order.

    Avon

“Man, probably (senior defensive lineman) Fawzy Omotoso. He’s pretty strong.” — DL Enoch Atewogbola

    Beech Grove

“I’ve got my boy Mikey (Moore). He’s coming back this year. He’s my lineman. He’s 6-5, 375. He’s definitely going to win that one. He’s strong. He squats six plates.” — RB Jeremiah Lee

    Ben Davis

“We have a lineman named Kamsi (Michael-Igbo). He’s crazy strong. I think he benches like 350 or something crazy. Or Isaiah White. He might have it, actually. I’d make it a couple (rounds).” — RB Alijah Price

“Isaiah White. He benches 400 pounds. I’m not touching him at all. I’m going to leave that to him, easily. I’m a confident guy and trust myself but on that one I’m going to take a hard pass.” — DB/WR Mark Zackery IV

“I think I’m going to take myself on that one. Probably my teammate Kamsi (Michael-Igbo would be toughest competition) because he’s strong.” — DL Isaiah White

    Bishop Chatard

“I would say (senior lineman) Jacob Arteaga or (senior linebacker) Eddie Benson. I might throw Lucas Tremain in there. (I’d make) Elite Eight, maybe Final Four.” — TE Harrison Forestal

    Brebeuf Jesuit

“I’m going to Jaden Curtis. He plays defensive tackle and right guard. He’s a big fella.” — QB Maverick Geske

“Jaden Curtis. One hundred percent. That’s a big guy. He’s coming out undefeated. No one is beating him.” — WR Taylor Clark

    Brownsburg

“Me. One hundred percent. One thousand percent. It’d be between me and my buddy Jackson (Sarjent). He’s a good arm wrestler. He’s got real big hands, but I think I could take him for sure. We’d be excited to do that actually. We’ll have to try that. It’d be like a huge duel.” — DL Mason Keifer

    Carmel

“I want to go with Evan Parker . He’s the biggest guy on the team and the strongest guy. I’d have to go with him or Ozzy (Pollard) . Ozzy is up there, too. I think that’s a little championship matchup right there. But I’d probably say Evan comes out on top. I’m going to the final four for sure.” — QB Anthony Coellner

“It’s gotta be me or Ozzy Pollard. That guy lifts like a tank. We’re constantly competing lift to lift to make sure we’re staying on top. I’ll take me because I’m big on myself, but he’ll give me a run for my money for sure.” — OL Evan Parker

“I’d like to say me but Evan (Parker) is a little bit stronger so I’d probably have to say Evan, but I definitely would be second.” — OL/TE Ozzy Pollard

“I have to go with my boy Evan Parker . He’s got that dawg in him, and he wrestled a little bit.” — DB Jimmie Winbush Jr.

    Cathedral

“Me. Every single person on my team knows that I will win in arm wrestling, one on ones, anything like that. Toughest competition is probably (senior lineman) Manny Egan. He just has that dawg. He doesn’t like to lose so if I was like right here to him, he’d get mad and start cussing or something. Then he’d just win off of that. He’s that type of guy.” — RB Jalen Bonds

    Center Grove

“Probably C.J. Scifres just because he’s the biggest one out there so I’ll have to give it to him.” — WR Brevin Holubar

    Crispus Attucks

“Probably my lineman, Amiel Falk. He’s a different breed. I’m up there a little bit.” — RB Darrell Taylor

    Decatur Central

“I’m going to go with (sophomore lineman) Jordyn Shanks or (senior lineman) Maurice Carter. Both defensive linemen. Very strong. Probably one of those two. (I’d make it to) the quarterfinals.” — QB Bo Polston

“I’ll go with (senior defensive tackle) Maurice Carter. Either Maurice or (N’po) Dodo. Those two are pretty strong.” — K Ashton Vogel

    Fishers

“Probably Jev Hutton. That dude is super strong. He’s crazy strong. As far as those big dudes, they go it man.” — WR JonAnthony Hall

    Franklin Central

“My offensive coordinator. ‘Coach Clev.’ Mike Clevenger. He is not from this planet. He is one of the strongest, most intimidating dudes I have ever seen. So definitely Coach Clev … I’d definitely get far in the tournament. We do grip strength stuff. We do tournaments where you have to hold barbells and stuff like that. We do plate hold challenges and I usually do pretty well on those so I could probably hold my own there.” — QB Nevan Tutterow

    Greenfield-Central

“Probably Ryan Lee. Just brute strength. I’ve got strength but you get put up against the linemen and I just can’t compete.” — QB Dallas Freeman

    Hamilton Southeastern

“We’ve got a lot of strong kids on our team. I’d have to say maybe Cam Gorin. I’d make it far, but I don’t know … he’s really strong.” — QB Chandler Weston

“That’s me. I’m for sure winning that. There’s no question. (Mason Alexander), he’s in the top 100 maybe. Not top 20 or anything. He’s all the way down.” — OL Cameron Gorin

"Me. What? I’m winning that. I don’t care if we have big people, fat people, I’m always winning that. But if I’m being realistic, if we’re counting coaches, probably our special teams coach (Garrett Hudson). He’s huge. Player (other than me) probably Cam (Gorin).” — DB Mason Alexander

    Lapel

“Either (senior offensive lineman) Karson Kinsinger or (senior receiver/safety) Rylie Hudson. Rylie is super competitive.” — QB Devin Craig

    Lawrence Central

“I’d probably have to give it to my teammate Bryan (Robertson, a defensive lineman). He’s strong. He’s huge and he’s cocky. I’ll give it to him. It’d probably be an interior d-lineman. I don’t know if I could compete with them.” — TE Nizyi Davis

    Lawrence North

“Definitely not me. Probably (offensive lineman) Jalen Goldsmith or (defensive lineman) Marcus Jackson. I’m not up there yet.” — WR Davion Chandler

“Probably our d-lineman. His name is Marcus Jackson. Big strong dude. Him or Anthony Ludington. One of those.” — DB Jerome Smith

“Anthony Ludington (senior defensive end and Miami of Ohio commit). He’s pretty strong.” — RB Izayveon Moore

    Lutheran

“I’d like to say me, honestly. Cam (McHaney) left ( transferred to IMG Academy ). … he’d win by flying colors. I don’t know. I guess humbly, me.” — QB Jackson Willis

    Mt. Vernon

“It’s one of my linemen. His name is Preston Fox. He’s winning, 100 percent. I think I’m making it pretty far. I think I’m making it like top three. I don’t think I’m beating two of my linemen. But I’m making top three easy.” — RB Joliba Brogan

    New Palestine

“Me. Most definitely. Is coach Ralph in it, or no? If he is, then no. Coach Ralph, 100%. He’s strong. I’ve seen him bench press. He makes me look little.” — DL Michael Thacker

    Noblesville

“Izzy over here (Israel Oladipupo) thinks he’s got it. But I don’t know. He might have it. Izzy or maybe one of our o-linemen. O-line guys with short arms. I feel like they might get Izzy. I think one of our o-line guys could actually get him. Izzy is going to call his name and think it’s him, but when the time comes, it’s not going to be him (laughs).” — TE Aiden Brewer

“I’m taking that all day. There’s definitely going to be a couple o-line guys. The only person I can really think of is probably Matteo Di Rosa. That’s the only person I can really think of. Otherwise, I’m taking that all day. I feel like I’m somewhere up there in strength. I arm-wrestled my dad and lost that one. But I definitely know what my strength goes up to and I’m definitely going to beat most of these kids.” — LB Israel Oladipupo

    Pike

“Cole Davis. Our guard. Real big guy. I’d make it a little far. Third to the last round.” — LB Ife Adeoba

    Warren Central

“Among the teammates? I’d probably say that ‘Geek Freak’ right there. Cam Herron, the ‘Geek Freak.’ He’s strong in the weight room but on the field, he would never come to the outside with me and Tyrone (Burrus). That’s how I feel. I don’t think he would ever come outside (laughs). But he’ll win arm wrestling. He’s just a strong guy.” — DL Damien Shanklin

“I’d say Cam Herron . He’s a big guy. He’s a muscle head. That’s it. But the only time he comes to the outside (in practice) is on a pull and I just slip right under. As soon as he thinks about going that way, I’m already past him.” — DL Tyrone Burrus

“Definitely me. I have the highest (weightlifting) numbers at Warren Central. That’s no question." — OL Cameron Herron

    Westfield

“I’m going to take Isaac Cole, the center. He’s just ridiculously strong. I don’t even understand it. But I’m taking him. I’d last like five or six seconds (against him). I’d hang in here a little bit.” — WR Gabe Aramboles

“I’d like to say me but honestly either our (junior) left tackle Malachi Mills or (senior) center Isaac Cole.” — OL Avery Huggins

“One of our two biggest linemen. I’d say Isaac Cole or Job Mavrick. One of them two. They are very strong linemen. I would make it pretty far, but they are up there for sure.” — LB Mikeah Webster

    Whiteland

“Jordan Palmer. He’s a stud. Him or maybe an o-lineman, Jonah McIntosh. Either one but probably Jordan Palmer.” — RB Slate Valentine

    Zionsville

“Definitely Brody Aeschliman. He’s a SAM linebacker. Strong wrestler. I could easily win a couple rounds. I’d probably get top four.” — WR Eugene Hilton

“I would definitely say me. Or honestly my brother (Hank). I think he’s going to go to state this year for wrestling, and he plays safety as well. But I mean, I beat him and he’s the good wrestler on the team so probably me. But I’m not sure. Maybe the fat people. They might beat me because I’m not as big as them.” — DB Max Phenicie
