    Indiana women's basketball, Teri Moren recruit freshman forward from Czech Republic

    Indiana women's basketball added a new player to its roster for the 2024-25 season.

    Head coach Teri Moren announced Thursday the addition of freshman forward Valentyna Kadlecova. The Czech Republic native most recently averaged 12.1 points, 3-0 assists and shot 42.9% from the floor at the U20 European Championships.

    Kadlecova (pronounced CAD-lech-UH-kov-ah) also appeared with the Czech Republic at the FIBA U19 World Cup, FIBA U18 Championships and FIBA U16 European Championships. During her time playing club basketball with DSK Levhartice Chomutov in 2023-24, Kadlecova averaged 11.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and shot 43.9% from the floor and 74.7% at the free throw line in the regular season.

    When she played in EuroCup, Kadlecova put up 11.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals in six games.
