    What is Tlaolli?

Tlaolli (tla- oh- lee), an Aztec word for corn, alludes to the spongey corn dough, or masa , that wraps around the fillings of Tlaolli's assorted tamales. In 2013, owner Carlos Hutchinson opened Tlaolli as a tamale take-out spot inside a low-profile lavender house next to the Indianapolis Public Library's East Washington Branch.

Since then, Hutchinson and his daughters have expanded the menu to include creative variations on traditional dishes with menu items like vegan birria and turkey tamales with cranberry salsa.

Tlaolli marks the Circle City's second appearance on "Triple D" this year. In the season 40 premiere, popular westside drive-in Che Chori welcomed Fieri to sample its "artisan food with an Argentine twist."
