The celebration will be delayed, but Noah Malone of Hamilton Southeastern High School has earned a Paralympic gold medal.

The 22-year-old Indiana State University alum had initially finished second in the 100-meter T12 race in Paris by .01 of a second. However, Serkan Yildrim of Turkey was disqualified.

Malone, who has Leber’s heredity optic neuropathy, has severely limited vision. He won a gold in the Tokyo Paralympics in a mixed 4X100 relay, as well as two silvers.

Malone set several school records at HSE and won the 2019 200-meter state championship.
