Taylor Swift is now the most awarded solo artist in MTV Video Music Award history

Last night Taylor Swift held her head like a hero on a history book page after she became the most awarded solo artist in MTV Video Music Award history and the artists with the most video of the year wins.

How many awards did Taylor Swift win at the VMAs?

At the VMAs on Wednesday night, Swift took home seven awards, including the night's top prize for video of the year.

These are the awards Swift received:

• Song of the summer for "Fortnight"
• Video of the year for "Fortnight"
• Artist of the year
• Best collaboration for "Fortnight"
• Best pop
• Best direction for "Fortnight"
• Best editing for "Fortnight"

She was nominated for 12 total awards, these were the other categories she was nominated in, but did not win:

• VMAs Most Iconic Performance: "You Belong With Me"
• Song of the year: "Fortnight"
• Best cinematography: "Fortnight"
• Best visual effects: "Fortnight"
• Best art direction for "Fortnight"

Did Taylor Swift thank Travis Kelce in her acceptance speech?

Yes; the pop star gave a special shout out to her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, during her acceptance speech for video of the year.

"When I'd finish a take, and I'd say cut, and we'd be done with that take, I'd always just hear someone like cheering and like 'whoo' from across the studio," she said. "And that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic."

Kelce did not make an appearance at the VMAs as he's likely practicing with the Chiefs ahead of their game Sunday in Kansas City against the Cincinnati Bengals.
