Indianapolis 500 legend A.J. Foyt to hold book signing in Speedway

Four-time Indianapolis 500 champion A.J. Foyt will sign copies of his new biography on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Foyt Wine Vault in Speedway.

" A.J. Foyt: Survivor, Champion, Legend (Vol. I) " author Art Garner will also take part in the two-hour event starting at 6 p.m. ET. Attendees can buy autographed books on site, but autographs are restricted to those books.

Garner spent five years researching the book, including more than 100 interviews and more than 100 photos, many rare. It chronicles Foyt's racing career through 1977, the year he became the first four-time Indy champ. He also won the race in 1961, '64 and '67.

Foyt owns Indy 500 records for starts (35, from 1958-92) miles driven in race competition (4,909). He has owned a race team for decades.
