Hurricane Milton continues to barrel toward Florida's west coast Wednesday. While meteorologists predict the Sunshine State could see 5-10 inches of rain, the Hoosier State likely won't get a drop of it.

Milton's path is unlike Hurricane Helene 's, whose remnants drifted north toward Indiana less than two weeks ago and dumped rain, damaged trees and caused widespread power outages across the state .

This time, things aren't looking so wet for Indiana with the latest hurricane forecast, forecasters said, at least for the foreseeable future.

"It looks like Central Indiana will stay dry for the next 7-10 days," said meteorologist Greg Melo with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis . "There's a low chance we'll see showers next Sunday with another front, but we'll probably stay dry."

Here's what we know about Hurricane Milton.
