The 2020 Indiana Mr. Football from Center Grove High School , fresh off a victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, popped by Center Grove's rivalry game between Center and North middle schools one night later.

He even surprised Trojans coach Eric Moore on the sideline.

"I was going to wait a day before I texted him, and all of a sudden I look next to me and he says, 'What's up coach?'" Moore said after the middle school game, as players, parents and friends gathered.

"Of all the things he could be doing after having a great game on 'Monday Night Football,' was not be at a middle school football game, right? Think about it," Moore said. "If you're in the NFL, and your teammates went to The Bahamas and stuff, he came back to Greenwood to see me and the Trojans, and everybody else. This is a true treat."

Steele offered the middle schoolers encouragement and reminded them to cherish what they're doing now.

"I've played at all three levels," he said, "but there's nothing like this moment."

There was no immediate word on whether Steele had arranged for Chiefs teammate/podcaster/actor Travis Kelce (and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift ) to meet Crocky J , Steele's pet alligator.

Steele, who made the two-time defending Super Bowl champs despite not being drafted out of UCLA (via Ball State ), has 33 carries for 117 yards and 2 catches for 2 yards.
