UPDATE: Dayo Odeyingbo has returned to the game on the first drive of the third quarter.

NASHVILLE, Tenn -- Another Colts defensive end is dealing with an injury at a position that has already been depleted.

Dayo Odeyingbo suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Titans and ruled questionable to return, the latest in a long line of injuries to the defensive line.

An Odeyingbo absence hurts Indianapolis in multiple areas.

Odeyingbo, who entered the game leading the Colts with two sacks and 17 quarterback pressures, according to Sports Info Solutions, has been asked to play defensive end on rushing downs and slide into the place of an injured DeForest Buckner on passing downs.

Faced with all the absences, Odeyingbo had played 224 snaps (61%) this season, the most of any player on the defensive line, and he’d been asked to play 163 snaps in the last three games.

Indianapolis did get back defensive end Kwity Paye from a two-game absence, but an Odeyingbo injury leaves the Colts without much of an interior pass rush, considering Buckner’s absence. Defensive end Tyquan Lewis, another player with the versatility to play both end and tackle, is on injured reserve with an elbow injury.

Buckner has now missed four games with a high ankle sprain, the minimum required for a player on injured reserve.
