(This story has been updated with new information)

The Indianapolis Colts host the Miami Dolphins in NFL Week 7 action, and the matchup is strikingly similar to the previous week against the Tennessee Titans.

The Dolphins (2-3) are struggling in the absence of quarterback Tua Tagovaiola . Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson are leading the NFL's lowest-scoring offense (12.0 points per game), and they have scored 2 touchdowns over their last three games. Miami's defense has excelled (like Tennessee's), and the Dolphins are coming off a bye, like the Titans the previous week.

The Colts (3-3) remain one of the league's most giving defenses despite improving in Week 6, and quarterback Anthony Richardson is expected to return after missing most of the past three games.

Miami Dolphins news: When the Dolphins have the ball

Miami has had trouble moving the ball and converting in key situations. The Dolphins score touchdowns on 36.4% of their red zone trips (31st), and convert 30.3% of their 3rd-down plays (29th) and 14.3% of their 4th-down plays (30th).

Miami's receivers are growing more frustrated by the week. Tyreek Hill (who reportedly will race Olympic sprinting star Noah Lyles) and Jaylen Waddle have combined for 1 touchdown this season. Hill has 23 catches at 12.4 yards per, and Waddle 21 catches at 12.3 yards per.

The return of running back Raheem Mostert may help. He had 18 carries for 80 yards in Week 5, his first action since the season opener. De'Von Achane (183 rushing yards, 21 catches) and Jaylen Wright are Mostert's backups.

The Colts held Tennessee's struggling offense to 17 points, but they remain relatively porous. Opponents carry 33.7 times per game for 155.2 yards (both 31st) and gain 389.5 total yards (30th). Opponents have converted 45.4% of their 3rd-down plays (28th) and completed 70% of their passes (28th). The Indianapolis defense hasn't registered a sack in 9 quarters.

Zaire Franklin , E.J. Speed and Nick Cross have all registered 60 tackles, and Jaylon Jones has 39 tackles with 7 passes defended and 2 interceptions.

Indianapolis Colts news: When the Colts have the ball

The Colts are scheduled to return to a high-risk, high-reward approach as Anthony Richardson returns from his oblique injury. Joe Flacco played most of the past three games, including two wins.

Richardson's top targets are Josh Downs (27 catches, 8.9 yards per, 2 TDs) and Michael Pittman Jr. (25 catches, 10.9 yards per, 2 TDs) on shorter routes and Alec Pierce (13 catches, 28.3 yards per, 3 TDs) deep. Richardson threw for 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in his 3+ games of action before suffering the injury.

The Colts may be without Jonathan Taylor (ankle) for the third straight week. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson have filled in, though Sermon (knee) is uncertain.

The Colts have converted 42.7% of their 3rd-down plays (8th) and their quarterbacks have been sacked on 5.1% of their dropbacks (6th). Indy QBs have completed 59.7% of their passes and have thrown 7 interceptions (both 31st).

The Colts remain last in time of possession (25:40).

Miami allows 25.5% 3rd-down conversions (1st), 159.6 passing yards (3rd) and 285.4 yards (5th). Jordyn Brooks has 39 tackles, and Emmanuel Ogbah and Calais Campbell both have 4 tackles for loss.

    Dolphins vs. Colts penalties

The Dolphins averaged 8.6 penalties for 78 yards per game, both the most in the NFL. Miami's opponents rack up 8.0 penalties for 68.4 yards, both 2nd-most.

The Colts are penalized 5 times per game for 38.2 yards, both the 2nd fewest.
