INDIANAPOLIS -- Forward Obi Toppin, center Isaiah Jackson and rookie wing Johnny Furphy will miss Thursday's preseason home game against the Hornets, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said in his pregame press conference.

Carlisle said Toppin is dealing with a sprained neck and Jackson is dealing with an injured right groin. Furphy sprained his right ankle early in camp and has yet to play in a preseason game, though Carlisle said Furphy got extensive work in practice on Wednesday and is closer to returning.

Jackson's absence likely means James Wiseman will be the backup center to Myles Turner. Toppin's absence likely means Jarace Walker will move from small forward to power forward, and Ben Sheppard will slot back into one of the wing spots alongside Bennedict Mathurin.
