SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Syracuse Police Officer was involved in a car crash at the corner of South Clinton Street and West Washington Street while responding to a burglary in progress call on Thursday, October 10.

The crash happened around 11:47 p.m. when a driver drove in the wrong direction on South Clinton Street.

The driver has been identified as 24-year-old Lauren Klee. Klee was charged with driving while intoxicated.

The officer involved in the crash was taken to Upstate University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The officer also had a K9 partner in the car. The K9 does not appear to suffer any injuries.

tbh I’ve seen ppl drive down the wrong way from fayette and clinton in broad daylight sober. It’s really not a gd one way when you have drunk college students frequenting bars on that Street at night. Then the cops that are there usually speed off to other calls. An accident was bound to happen
