Domestic incident in Canton leads to arrest

CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies said they made an arrest following an investigation into a reported domestic incident that occurred in the Town of Canton.

The investigation into the incident, which police have said occurred on Saturday, Oct. 12, on Jingleville Road, has led to Westley A. Daniels, 37, being charged with the following offenses.

• Unlawful Imprisonment in the 1st Degree (Class E Felony)
• Strangulation in the 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
• Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
• Harassment in the 2nd Degree (Violation)

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, Daniels was arraigned in Lisbon Town Court and then remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility. Bail is set at $25,000 cash or a $50,000 partially secure bond.

A no-contact order of protection has been issued in favor of the victim, according to police.
