    Jefferson County man charged with possessing, selling drugs

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 40-year-old Watertown man is facing multiple charges after an alleged drug arrest on Tuesday, October 15.

    According to the Metro Jeff Drug Task Force, they arrested Timothy Layo when they saw him selling drugs and arrested him for possessing and selling a controlled substance.

    He was also arrested outside the Franklin Street Market as Layo had outstanding warrants on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

    Police executed a search warrant of his apartment at 624 Franklin St. while in custody and seized nearly $430 in cash, 4,500 envelopes of fentanyl and numerous weapons.

    The results of the searched yielded another charged of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for Layo.

    He was arraigned and placed in the Jefferson County Jail on the outstanding warrants. Layo was additionally held on $25,000 cash bail for the new charges.

    As this investigation continues, additional charges are pending.
