    Lowville earns No. 2 seed in Class B as boys soccer brackets released

    SYRACUSE, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY/WWTI) – The Lowville boys soccer team earned the second seed in Class B as Section 3 brackets were released on Sunday.

    Sectional championships for boys’ soccer will be decided at three different schools. Classes AAA and AA will travel to Fulton High School. Finals for Classes A and B will be played at East Syracuse Minoa High School, while Classes C and D will raise their banners at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.

    Lowville will host Syracuse Academy of Science at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in first-round play. No. 14 General Brown travels to third-seeded Skaneateles for a first-round matchup also at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

    In Class AA, Watertown is the No. 4 seed and hosts No. 5 West Genesee in a Thursday quarterfinal match slated for 6:30 p.m.

    Class A has three Frontier League teams in the bracket. South Jefferson is the No. 4 seed and hosts Homer at 7 p.m. Tuesday. An all-FL matchup could happen if South Jeff advances. They will play the winner of the 5:30 p.m. Tuesday first-round match between fifth-seeded Indian River and No. 12 Carthage.

    Class C will see fifth-seeded Westmoreland will host No. 12 South Lewis at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oriskany High School. No. 15 Thousands Islands travels to second-seeded Tully for a 3 p.m. Wednesday matchup

    A number of area teams made the Class D tournament with an all-Frontier League matchup between fifth-seeded Sackets Harbor and No. 12 Belleville Henderson at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Sackets. Eighth-seeded Lyme will host No. 9 Town of Webb in a first-round matchup at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will take on the victor of top-seeded Hamilton and No. 16 Immaculate Heart. That game is slated for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

    No. 10 Copenhagen goes to seventh-seeded DeRuyter and No. 15 Alexandria plays at second-seeded Faith Heritage for 3 p.m. Wednesday games. LaFargeville is the No. 14 seed and travels to third-seeded perennial power Poland for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
