Severe storms bring more heavy rain to West Michigan
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Severe thunderstorms racing across West Michigan late Monday night and early Tuesday morning created vivid lightning and dropped more heavy rain on already saturated ground. The storms first moved onto the Lake Michigan shoreline around 11 p.m. Monday and moved steadily eastward until clearing the area by 3 a.m. Tuesday. Doppler radar estimated rainfall showed the heaviest precipitation fell in an east to west stripe that roughly followed I-94 where between 2.5" and 4.0" of rain may have fallen.

On Monday, the Department of Attorney General announced it has concluded the review of the December 1, 2023, officer involved shooting death of Stephen Luis Romero, 33, of Lansing, without issuing charges against the officers involved, finding they acted in self-defense. An investigation of the shooting incident was conducted by the Michigan State Police. It is the policy of Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office to request the Department of Attorney General review all fatal shootings by officers in Ingham County for the possibility of misconduct or criminal wrongdoing.

Police arrest two teens accused of breaking into cars in Delhi Township
DELHI TWP., Mich. (WILX) - Two teens from Mid-Michigan were arrested early Thursday after allegedly breaking into multiple cars in Delhi Township. The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 2400 block of North Aurelius Road for reports of multiple teenagers breaking into cars at 4:30 a.m. on July 11. Deputies said a person began to chase after the teenagers and later said one of them pointed a weapon at him.
