The Reno County Sheriff’s Office’s BearCat, a law enforcement armored vehicle, and officers were there to collect new or gently used baseball equipment for the Youth Equipment Drive. The vintage base ball game showed how the game was played in the 1860’s with the rules, uniforms and equipment from that time period. (Back then, the players pitched the ball underhanded and they did not use ball gloves!) The NBC reigning champion Hutchinson Monarchs defeated the Diamond Kings 15-4 in eight innings. Many Reno County employees enjoyed the evening with three playing on the vintage baseball teams!
