A tourist was filmed screaming and repeatedly kicking a plane door after missing his flight.

The incident occurred on Friday last week at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia, involving a Latam Airlines flight heading for Cartagena, El Tiempo newspaper reported.

The man assaulted airport workers before making his way down the aerobridge toward the plane's door, according to the report.

Video posted online shows the man repeatedly kicking the plane's closed door and banging on the window in a vain attempt to get on board.

At one point, he can be seen trying to use a joystick that controls the jet bridge.

El Tiempo reported that the man, thought to be American, was arrested after the incident and later deported from Colombia.

"This disruptive passenger first attacked the ground personnel serving passengers because they informed him that the flight was already closed and that he had arrived late," Daniel Gallo, president of the Colombian Air Workers Union, told the newspaper.

"He immediately proceeded by force to the boarding bridge and, not being able to enter the plane, decided to violate the security of the flight," he added.

Latam Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider sent outside normal working hours.
