Even if you’re not the biggest animal lover, certain creatures have the power to put a smile on your face.

The world is filled with dog lovers, and many will tell you that it’s rightly so. There are lots of friendly pooches out there, and many of them are pretty darn smart. Adam Mandell’s dog, Georgia, is a special pup who gets extremely excited when it’s time to visit Adam’s mom.

She is living with Alzheimer’s disease , and the pair visits her at a memory care facility often. Adam shared footage of himself taking Georgia to visit “Nana,” and even though she can’t tell him so, that dog knew exactly where they were headed.

There are plenty of stories about animals being therapeutic, and it’s pretty clear that Georgia has that effect on Adam’s mom. When the pair gets to the facility, Georgia rushes up to Nana and jumps on her with pure joy and excitement. The feelings are clearly mutual, as Nana smiles and laughs while telling Georgia, “I love you.”

Georgia and Nana have a special bond.

In one of the comments on his viral video, Adam explained that his mother struggles with memory. But he and Georgia are still familiar faces.

“It is amazing she cannot remember where her grandkids live but never forgets my dog’s name! We laugh! Otherwise would be depressing,” Adam wrote.

His video touched people with many leaving comments like this one, “This is so sweet and wholesome.”

“This inspired me to bring my dog to visit my dad who recently was out in memory care home. . Alzheimer’s is the worst,” a TikToker wrote.

Adam encouraged them to bring their dog along, “Do it! It’s good for your dad, residents, and staff!”

Life is short, so we should pack in as much joyful time as we can. And if we have a furry friend to tag along, even better.

I work in MC. I have taken my old ESA weiner many times. They remember her and will do things for her... that sometimes I have difficulty getting them to do. Like taking meds or getting out of bed. The therapy works for both residents and staff. Amazing
