Celine Dion made an epic return to the stage when she gave the crowd at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremonies a surprise performance from the Eiffel Tower.

The event featured several world-famous musicians, such as Lady Gaga and Gojira. But no one dazzled quite like Celine. The Grammy winner served as the final act, and she performed while the Olympic cauldron was lit, which signified the official start of the games.

As a lantern floated into the sky, Celine belted Edith Piaf’s classic L’Hymne à l’amour . And though she shared in the past that her autoimmune disease, Stiff-Person Syndrome, has affected her vocals , she belted the lyrics perfectly.

The performance was Celine Dion’s first since announcing her diagnosis. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke , Stiff-Person Syndrome is “a rare, progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord.”

Before the opening ceremonies, the last time Celine performed was during a 2019 concert in London, England.
