“AGT”: Golden Buzzer Singer Performs Song Prince Personally Wrote For Her

Liv Warfield was one of the first acts on AGT’s season 19 live episode, and she wowed the judges with a song Prince personally wrote for her.

The soul singer first showed her talents in June when she and her band performed her original song titled Stare . While it was only night two of the auditions, Simon wasted no time handing her his Golden Buzzer.

After she finished her song that night, the former music executive took the microphone and sealed her fate.

“Liv, I have a problem,” he said. “That wasn’t long enough… It was like being, in a good way, punched in the face by your energy, the band, all these years of frustration. And I’m sorry, I can’t give you a “yes.”

With that, he slammed his fist on the buzzer, which gave Liv a ticket straight to the live rounds.

When she sang The Unexpected on the August 13 episode, she earned even higher praise from Simon and his fellow judges Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Heidi Klum.

“I am speechless. I mean, seriously— I thought you were great the first time. This was unbelievable…It was like all those years, you’ve been climbing up the ladder to get to where you wanna be. It all came out in these three minutes.”

And Liv Warfield has been climbing to fame for decades. The 45-year-old has sung backup for iconic musicians like Nancy Wilson and Prince, who penned The Unexpected as a gift for her.

“The best thing is to see how much this means to you,” said Sofia. “It’s amazing to have an artist like you here with us.”
