Even with all the lavish gifts over the years, one romantic gesture stood out to Mark Wahlberg’s wife above the rest. During the episode, stand-in host Jeff Goldblum noticed something interesting on Mark’s finger. He asked him, “Let me see what you’ve got. Is that a tattoo on your finger?”

Mark didn’t hesitate. He answered, “That’s my wife’s name, yes.” While many may wonder why he would get his wife’s name tattooed on his ring finger, Wahlberg took the time to explain. He said he got it, “In case I’m not wearing my ring or I’m working.”

We are not the only ones who find this gesture incredibly romantic. According to Mark, his wife also loved the gesture. He told Jeff that she said, “Oh my God, that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever done.”

The Romantic And The Comedian

The actor did this for his wife one year on Valentine’s Day, and after her heartfelt reaction, he made a humorous joke. When Mark Wahlberg’s wife told him that this tattoo was the nicest thing he had ever done for her, he teased, “Well, can I have back the expensive jewelry and just get you one of these, too?”

With all jokes aside, the couple has spent many wonderful years together. PEOPLE shares that they met at a press junket in 2001 and had their first date at church the next day. The pair began dating shortly after and have been inseparable ever since.

Mark Wahlberg and his wife share four beautiful children. Ella Rae, born in 2003, Michael, born in 2006, Brendan Joseph, born in 2008, and Grace Margaret, born in 2010. The couple got married after their third child, after 8 years together, and they are clearly very much still in love today.
