Chicken nuggets are a staple in many homes across the United States. That’s why it’s so important that news spreads of this chicken nugget recall. The affected products were made by the popular brand Perdue, who is known for carrying many frozen chicken products. This recall was made, in part, thanks to vigilant customers making the company aware of the issue. The issue? Metal wire was found in some of their products.

When Perdue was made aware of this issue, they worked with the U.S. Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) to resolve it. In doing so, they discovered that around 167,171 pounds of products may be contaminated by the foreign metal material. This, of course, led to the recall.

According to Jeff Shaw , the company’s senior vice president of food safety and quality, Perdue “determined the material to be a very thin strand of metal wire that was inadvertently introduced into the manufacturing process.”

Nationwide Chicken Nugget Recall Affects Three Perdue Products

Although Perdue carries many products, there are three affected by this recall. Those products include the following:

    • Perdue Breaded Chicken Tenders
    • Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets
    • Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets

If you have any of these products in your home, please check if they fall under this recall. Those that do will have the best if used by date of March 23, 2025 and the following establishment number on the back: P-33944.

Although there have not been any confirmed injuries or adverse reactions to this contamination so far, it is still very important to not consume these products . If you would like a refund, you can either return the chicken to your place of purchase or call Perdue at 866-866-3703. Stay safe, everyone!
