Video Shows Couple Driving To Hospital To Deliver Their Daughter Then Cuts To Unexpected Surprise

The biggest perk of being born in the 21st century is the incredible technology we have today. Millions of people carry smartphones in their pockets with handy camera features that allow us to capture the most incredible moments. Danya and Rebecca Mahota were on the highway headed to the hospital after Rebecca went into labor with their daughter, Summer. Danya started recording but had no idea what was coming next.

He told his daughter that he and her mom couldn’t wait to meet her, and it appears Summer got the message loud and clear. While the couple was headed to a Cape Cod hospital, Summer decided she was ready to be born. Her mom felt an intense contraction, so Danya pulled over.

The next thing they knew , Danya could feel the baby’s head, and he jumped in to help Mom during delivery.

The doting dad joked to Fox News that he didn’t have any medical training but knew what to do.

“I have no medical experience, but I’m an IT guy — we solve problems.”

An Ambulance Came And Took The Family To The Hospital After Rebecca Went Into Labor On The Highway

The paramedics arrived a short time later, and Danya cut the baby’s cord in a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot, according to the Cape Cod Times .

Danya posted the family’s story on Facebook and warned anyone ready to deliver to get to the hospital.

“FOLLOW YOUR HEART and not your mind. Looking back, we both KNEW it was coming….BUT our reality did not fit the guidelines. We were downloading apps, clicking timers, checking bags (that were checked 20 times already), ensuring dogs were fed…all things that could have been ignored if we had been following our instincts instead,” Danya said.

What a story. We know Summer will want to hear this one over and over as she grows up. Maybe you can tell it on her birthday over a celebratory donut.
