Wholesome: Three-Legged Shelter Dog Gently Rescues Dragonfly Trapped In Pool

Despite everything this shelter dog has been through, he still has so much compassion for others — like this dragonfly that he carefully took the time to rescue! Paws Place Dog Rescue caught the sweetest footage of Petey, a pooch with three legs, coming to the aid of an insect in distress. His genuine concern for the winged creature was way too cute! This precious video is going viral on social media.

In the clip, Petey was hanging out by a small kiddie pool when he noticed there was an insect trapped in the water. Immediately, the pooch jumped into action. He started circling the pool, searching for the best angle to reach the poor bug. Then, the dog leaned forward and gingerly used his teeth to rescue the drowning dragonfly!

As soon as Petey had the insect in his mouth, he laid them down softly on dry land. He was trying so hard not to hurt his new friend! Once the dog had rescued the dragonfly from the water, he started sniffing the bug to make sure they were ok. What a kind pup!

“Petey is so gentle and caring,” wrote Paws Place Dog Rescue in their caption. “He spent his play time trying to save a dragonfly from the pool. Maybe we should add ‘insect friendly’ to his kennel description??”
