Mom Shares Adorable Video Of “Cooking With My 20 Month Old”

One mom on social media has found a creative way to spend time with her toddler in the kitchen by cooking together, and her videos are too precious! Sam MacDonald has several “Cooking with Maisie” posts on her account, starting from when the child was little over a year old. Her first entry was titled, “Baking with my 13-month-old and it goes exactly how you would imagine.” However, it seems that this little girl’s culinary skills have improved since then!

In a more recent clip, Sam and Maisie teamed up to bake a batch of delicious lemon bars. At this point, the child was 20 months old, which meant that she’d had some time to mature as a chef. Of course, cooking with a toddler is always going to be a challenge! Mom was really patient as her little one “helped” in the kitchen.

“Cooking with my 20-month-old and it goes slightly better than you would imagine,” Sam wrote at the beginning of the video.

Some of Maisie’s key baking skills included cracking eggs, pouring ingredients into the bowl, and putting anything and everything into her mouth. Although sometimes this toddler spent more time snacking than cooking, it still looks like mom and child had a blast cooking together. This little girl couldn’t wait to feed one of their freshly-baked lemon bars to her father!

When cooking with a toddler, safety comes first.

Obviously, kitchens can be dangerous places for very small children . It’s important to note that Sam kept an eye on Maisie the entire time they were baking. She had to be especially vigilant while dealing with the raw eggs, because the little girl seemed intent on sneaking a taste! While cooking with her toddler, Mom took care of the dangerous parts herself, such as handling knives and operating the oven.

Commenters loved watching this adorable toddler cooking with her mother.
