Baby Sea Turtles Run Into The Ocean In The Most Precious Parade

Nature is positively amazing. It is mind-boggling if you take a moment to breathe it all in and think about how many species share the earth. Some animals are birthed, and others are hatched. Their journeys are different but no less incredible.

According to Seaworld.org, when a sea turtle lays eggs, they stay in a nest deep in the sand for 45 to 70 days. During that time, new sea turtles grow, and when it is time for them to hatch, it can take three to seven days for them to fully make their way to the surface.

Baby sea turtles typically emerge from the nest at night to ward off predators and prepare to walk to the sea. This magnificent march often involves dozens of hatchlings heading to the water together in a “swim frenzy” that can last 24 to 48 hours.

“This frantic activity gets the young turtle into deeper water, where it is less vulnerable to predators,” SeaWorld explains.

The viral video gives us a sneak peek into the baby sea turtles’ journey toward the water. We can’t help but think of Crush from Finding Nemo and hope the little guys make their way safely into the surf.
