If you’re in the mood for some 80s nostalgia, one dad on social media can take you on the best trip down memory lane. When his young son asked him what life was like in the 1980s, this man had no shortage of reasons it was “the best decade.” In a hilariously relatable video, Justin shared some of the experiences that defined the era for him. Anyone who grew up around the same time is sure to get a kick out of his post!

“My 8-yr-old son asked me what it was like growing up when I was his age in the 80s,” the man wrote at the beginning of the clip.

This kid must have been shocked by how different things were when his father was a child ! First of all, entertainment required a lot more effort. Nowadays, you can play games, watch content, and listen to music on your phone. However, this dad’s nostalgia video reminded us of a time when you had to pop in a VHS to watch a movie.

“This was our Netflix,” he wrote over a photo of VHS tapes.

Socializing has also changed a lot since the 1980s. In his video, Justin shared images of rotary phones and old-school address books. He also joked that, instead of using cell phones to contact his friends in those days, he knew where to find them based on where their bicycles were!

Of course, this dad’s nostalgia also covered some aspects of life in the 80s that we’re probably better off without! For example, one of his retro images showed two different playground slides that were the opposite of user-friendly.

“One burned you alive and the other electrocuted you with static,” he said.

All in all, though, most of Justin’s childhood memories were pretty positive. He really took us back in time with his nostalgia for the 80s!
