Last-Minute Shift in Northern Lights Will Send Spectacular Views Farther South Than Normal

Your best chance at spotting these lights will take place tomorrow night (September 10). For optimal viewing, it’s vital to be in an area with as few lights as possible. Other tips include :

• Heading toward the magnetic poles
• Looking up between 10 PM and 2 AM local time
• Checking out this aurora forecast to see if your area is in the coverage area

If you do choose to head outside for a viewing of the northern lights, make sure to stay aware of your surroundings. This is especially true if you’re venturing into dark, isolated areas. And, of course, have fun!
