Adopted Mom-To-Be Was Feeling Down About Having No Hand-Me-Downs… Until Her Friend Stepped In!

While pregnant with her daughter, one mom-to-be received the most thoughtful gift ever from her best friend. Felicia Mackenzie Roskam shared the sweetest story on social media about how her bestie made her baby shower unforgettable! It all started when she had confided in the other woman that she was feeling down about something. Although the new mom was very excited to have a baby girl, she was a little sad that she didn’t have anything from her own childhood to hand down.

Felicia thought it would be really special to be able to pass on her baby clothes and toys to the next generation. However, because she was adopted, she didn’t have these items anymore. So, this pregnant woman’s best friend decided to take matters into her own hands with the most precious gift she could offer. “Auntie Tay” provided the mother-to-be with hand-me-downs from her own family! She also penned a heartwarming note explaining the present.

“When you found out you were pregnant, I remember you telling me how bummed you were that you didn’t have anything from when you were little,” Tay wrote. “I know this will never replace that, but the items below were mine. Some passed down multiple generations.”

She added that, as far as she was concerned, Felicia was her sister.

“You are my family and there is no one I would rather see these go to than my new little niece,” concluded the note.

What a fantastic gift idea!

Tay couldn’t have come up with a more meaningful gift for her pregnant friend if she’d tried. Felicia was completely floored when she received these beautiful baby items. Many of them came with sticky notes explaining their history. For example, there were a couple of blankets that had been given to Tay’s grandmother in the 1970s and 1980s. She had also included a variety of baby clothes, some of her favorite childhood toys, and one of her most treasured books!

Now, Felicia has plenty of sweet gifts to hand down to her newborn daughter. As the little girl grows up, she’ll learn about all the wonderful memories that her possessions hold.
