America’s favorite game show kicked off its 41st season yesterday. The first episode aired just days after the series won its second Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show. Although the show’s legendary host, Alex Trebeck , is no longer with us, Ken Jennings has taken to the stage quite nicely. He is kicking off his third year as host and revealing some new changes to Jeopardy!

Season 41 Brings Some Big Changes

Parade shared some of the biggest changes hitting the Jeopardy! stage this year. First, “The Second Chance and Champions Wildcard competitions are coming back.” Fans should be on the lookout for them in early 2025.

Second, while it is not Ken Jennings’s first time hosting the show, this will be his first year flying solo. Mayim Bialik, with whom he previously shared hosting duty, will not be joining him this season. Third, unlike past seasons, Season 41 will open with a few months of regular games rather than tournaments.

Season 41 will also have fewer tournaments than Season 40 did. It will be “back on par with the regular numbers of annual tournaments. Finally, the last item on the Jeopardy! changes list, ” The Inside Jeopardy! Podcas t will have a new co-host.”

    “Jeopardy!” Podcast Host Revealed

The Jeopardy Instagram page revealed that the new co-host will be Sam Buttrey in an Instagram post.

Fans of the show were ecstatic about the new co-host. The positive comments continue to flood in.

One user wrote: “I loved Sam on Jeopardy. He was my favorite player. Love his quick sense of humor!”

Another added, “Nice!!! I have literally never listened to a podcast, but I’m here for Sam .”

A third wrote, “Hooray! Love Sam! Bring it! #bringit.”

The account also shared some highlights before welcoming the new season. They shared that in Season 40 they had “230 shows…2,991 categories, and 14,031 clues on the board.” They also shared that they had “423 players from 46 states” as well as “113 winners and 1 super-champion.”

Fans were happy to relive the incredible season.

One user wrote, “40 was a good one. Here’s to 41!”

Another added, “Can’t wait for the new season! .”

To add more excitement to the season, fans will see a return of the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament and the franchise’s most prestigious contest, the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions . People are excited for the upcoming Season 41 and the Jeopardy! changes that come with it.
