It’s been 50 years since we met Richie Cunningham and Arthur Fonzarelli as the stars of Happy Days . Richie was squeaky clean, and the Fonz was a rebel. Together, they are one of the most famous duos in television history. The pair reunited on stage during the 76th Primetime Emmys on September 15 on a set that took us right back to Arnold’s Drive-In.

Ron Howard And Henry Winkler Have Still Got It

They may be a bit older, grayer, and surely wiser as parents and grandparents, but their comedic timing and ability to reel us in hasn’t changed at all. During their bit, Ron pointed out that the Happy Days theme song didn’t play but that Candice Bergen got music.

“Of course, she would get one,” Henry responded.

“Well, I have a solution,” Ron said. “You could do it.”

“No, come on, first of all, I’m out of practice,” Henry argued. “And second of all, it takes schooling, and, you know.”

“You went to the Yale School of Drama. Come on, you know you can do it.”

Without skipping a beat, Henry became Fonzie, and as cool as a cucumber, he walked up to the jukebox and gave it a familiar tap with his arm.

And just like way back when, the music started to play as the crowd began to cheer. It was happy and wholesome, and people loved it.

Variety shared a video of the moment on TikTok , and fans went crazy.

Someone wrote, “Why does that make me tear up? Happy Days was my childhood. Love that show!”

This person agreed, “50 years and the fonz still has the magic touch. aye!!”

Ron and Henry are a testament to friendship. “Truly two people who were simply placed together 50 yrs ago and continued to make their relationship last all these 50 years.”

We agree with this person. We needed this dose of nostalgia, too. “That was one of my favorite moments of the night. Unlocking my childhood memories.”
