Every job comes with its own set of challenges. But for pilots, there is a real possibility that these challenges will become life-or-death situations. This was the type of challenge one pilot faced on Tuesday when navigating a small plane. It was so small, in fact, the only people onboard were the pilot and two passengers. The small group took off at Logan International Airport in Boston. But soon after they left the runway, it was clear something was wrong.

While headed to Bar Harbor, Maine, the pilot was told about an “anomaly” with the landing gear. The first indication they received happened just after takeoff. As you can imagine, this meant that action needed to be taken ASAP . In this case, the pilot had no other choice than to return back to Boston. But in order to land safely, the pilot learned they would have to land the plane on a single wheel. Watch this talented pilot perfectly do just that in the video below.

As the above video shows, landing the plane with only a single wheel was no easy task. Even from this far off, it’s clear the pilot had to be careful as they tried to land as gently as possible. From here, they managed to slow down in a way that didn’t send the entire cabin careening across the pavement.

As terrifying as this ordeal must have been for the three people onboard, in the end, none of them sustained any injuries. This wouldn’t have been possible, of course, had it not been for this brave, talented pilot!
