Parenting a small child is hard enough, but this blind dad has a few more challenges than most. However, he’s figured out the perfect way to keep track of his 10-month-old baby as she explores the house. In an adorable video on social media, Paralympic athlete and motivational speaker Anthony Ferraro shared his trick for keeping an ear on his daughter. It’s pretty clever!

In order to hear where his baby is going, this blind dad wraps a velcro strap with bells on it around the little girl’s ankle. That way, she’ll jingle every time she moves! This makes it easy for Anthony to follow the child as she wanders. According to Dad, this kid really gets around!

“10 months and she’s been on the move lately,” he said in his video.

Anthony caught some adorable footage of the baby girl crawling across the floor while wearing her bells. Sure enough, the resourceful father was able to track her down wherever she went by following the jingling sound!

This blind dad also uses sound to help him play catch with his daughter. Her toy ball has bells inside, so it makes noise every time they toss it to each other.

Anthony Ferraro has a lot of helpful content on social media demonstrating how he approaches different tasks while blind. Sometimes, he uses accessibility aids. Other times, he has to come up with his own creative solutions.

For example, there’s no good way for the vision impaired to tell dollar bills apart from one another. So, this man has come up with a unique system. First, he asks his partner to identify the bills for him. Then, he folds them into different shapes according to their value. That way, he can tell what he’s holding based on its shape! Although this system helps a lot, Anthony believes that handling money in the U.S. still isn’t very accessible .

It’s so cool that this blind dad is taking the time to share his experiences with us. Not only are his tips helpful for those with disabilities, but they’re also helping to educate everyone else!
