Sailor Captures Shocking Footage As He Pushes Through Hurricane Milton’s Extreme Winds In The Gulf Of Mexico

Experts anticipate Hurricane Milton will make landfall in Florida in the next several hours. Many in the state continue to recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Weather experts fear Milton will bring even more devastating destruction. The National Hurricane Center recently downgraded Milton to a Category 4 storm, with winds at 155 MPH. That is just one mile per hour less than a Category 5 storm’s threshold. The thought of what could happen is both terrifying and incomprehensible.

A Sailor Braved The Wild Weather And Caught Footage Of Hurricane Milton’s Fury

Video footage posted to X by user @theinformant_x shows a sailor’s boat mercilessly beaten by the waves in the Gulf of Mexico as Milton churns. It is impossible to see anything outside of the ship’s windows as the water pours down. The winds make an ominous howl, yet inside the boat, it is silent. The camera person doesn’t make a sound as they survey the incredible forces of nature battling in the ocean.

The post warns of what may come with this catastrophic storm and asks people to take evactuation warnings seriously.

“With winds of up to 160 mph, it is expected to bring a destructive storm surge, devastating winds, and catastrophic flooding across much of the state, especially the Tampa Bay region,” it says.

“In addition, there is the possibility of tornadoes on the Florida peninsula, further increasing the risks for the population,” the message warns.

The National Weather Service warned on X , “As bands from Milton begin moving ashore, conditions will be favorable for tornado development across the central/southern Florida Peninsula, even far away from the expected landfall. Keep your alerts active on your phone and take immediate action if a warning is issued for your area.”
