The robotic industry is making significant advancements day by day. The increasing demand for such modern machines in multiple industries has pushed the makers to develop cutting-edge robots that can reduce human dependency. Recently, a Chinese company created a robot lineup to help douse devastating fires.

Guoxing Intelligent’s fire emergency robots are equipped with advanced detection systems. Thermal cameras, smoke detectors, and gas sensors allow the robot to detect the presence of fire and hazardous gases to help effectively douse them.

With teleoperating facility, these robots can be operated by humans at a safe distance from a conflagration. Using robust navigation systems including GPS, LiDAR, and inertial navigation, these robots can autonomously navigate through indoor or outdoor environments.

The high-tech capability also allows machines to avoid obstacles and reach the fire location swiftly.

Robots employ various methods to extinguish flames

For suppressing fires, these robots employ various methods including water spraying systems, foam dispensers, or chemical extinguishers. The method is well-programmed to efficiently extinguish flames while minimizing water damage.

The capacity of remote operability allows firefighters to assess the situation from a safe distance and direct the robot’s actions accordingly.

Equipped with communication systems such as Wi-Fi or radio transceivers, these robots relay real-time data and video feeds to firefighters. This helps them to monitor the current situation and make informed decisions .

    Robots can withstand high temperatures

These robots can withstand high temperatures, smoke, and water exposure. Equipped with self-righting mechanisms, these robots are claimed to have the capability to recover from falls or obstacles encountered during operation.

These robots can enter fire scenes and extinguish flames using firefighting equipment, according to Guoxing Intelligent . The machines reduce the spread of fire and provide support in areas inaccessible or hazardous to firefighters.

After a fire outbreak, firefighting robots can be used to survey the fire scene, collecting information through cameras or sensors to assist firefighters in assessing the situation, identifying evacuation routes, and executing firefighting strategies, according to the company.

Firefighting robots can enter confined spaces, detect potential fires

In high-temperature or toxic gas environments, firefighting robots can enter confined spaces, conduct space exploration tasks, detect potential fires or hazardous gases, and help determine the best firefighting approach.

Firefighting robots can search and locate trapped individuals at fire scenes, providing real-time video and audio communication to guide rescue operations, shorten rescue time, and improve rescue efficiency, according to Guoxing Intelligent.

The company also claimed that besides emergency firefighting situations , firefighting robots can also be used for rescue and survey tasks in other hazardous environments, such as chemical spills, radioactive contamination, or collapsed buildings.

The newest member of the Guoxing lineup is the KT-500, a machine designed to quickly masticate or chew through thick brush, undergrowth, and small trees. Firefighters can quickly deploy the unit in the field to help create firebreaks in forested areas and remote locations, according to Robot Report .

The machine uses a double-tracked drive to position the unit to crush trees up to 100 mm (3.9 in.) in diameter long with shrubs, grass, and other flammable vegetation. This allows for the rapid creation of fire isolation zones.
