A Miami Beach Corvette owner encountered an unusual situation when he found an intruder trapped inside his car and sought his assistance to get out.

After enjoying breakfast, Julio Solano returned to a Miami Beach parking garage where he had parked his C8 Corvette, only to find a man trapped inside it, according to Miami’s Local 10.

The thief, identified as Ravesh Rabindranauth, was pleading for help as he couldn’t get out.

The entire incident was captured on camera, which makes it even more hilarious.

    Corvette’s electric door release

The Corvette has featured electric door releases for the past few generations.

The doors have been a source of frustration for some owners and have tragically proven fatal for others.

Those specific releases and the car’s electronics and security system contributed to trapping Rabindranauth inside.

“The car’s electrical components do not function without the keys, and luckily, he was unaware of the manual door release under the seat,” Solano informed Local 10.

Solano also informed the owner of a luxury car rental company, which stored vehicles in the same garage, about the incident involving his car.

    The thief begged for help

After becoming trapped inside, the thief asked Solano to help exit the vehicle .

“My brother, this is not your car, this is my car,” Solano asked Rabindranauth.

“Can I get out?” Rabindranauth was recorded asking Solano on the victim’s cellphone.

“No, you can’t get out. We’re calling the cops,” Solano replied.

Authorities stated that Rabindranauth was informed of his Miranda rights and agreed to speak with the officers.

A routine check of records revealed no local criminal history or outstanding warrants. Jail records indicate Rabindranauth is being charged with one count of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance.

He is currently held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond has been set at $2,500 as of Tuesday.

Investigators stated that Solano had informed the owner of Premiere Auto Miami 1, an exotic car rental company that stores its vehicles in the garage.

    Not the first time

On multiple occasions, individuals have found themselves inadvertently locked inside a Corvette.

In a recent incident, a man experienced this predicament and had to contact emergency services by dialing 911 for assistance.

Unfortunately, the man was unaware of the location of the door manual release switch on the floor near the Corvette’s seats. This information is also detailed in the Corvette’s owner’s manual for reference.

In 2015, a man and his dog died from heat exhaustion after becoming trapped inside a Corvette .

Police believe that a loose cable cut off the car’s power while the man and his dog were inside, leaving them unable to open the doors, lower the windows, or honk the horn.

Experiencing a lockout in a C6 Corvette is a common issue for owners. The locks become inoperable when the power is out, or the battery is dead.

However, in Solano’s case, this problem turned out to be the best solution of his life.
