In a groundbreaking discovery, volunteers in the northern part of France discovered a small glass vial that consisted of a 200-year-old message from a colleague from another era.

As per data, archaeologist P.J Fére wrote the note. He even conducted a dig at the Cité de Limes site in January 1825.

Now, archaeologist Guillaume Blondel led the team of volunteers who excavated the Camp de César site near the Puys beach in Dieppe. They conducted it as an emergency rescue dig because cliff erosion threatened the site.

During their operation, the archaeologists unearthed most of the fragments of Gallic pottery. During one such expedition, one of the students uncovered a circular rim from a pot. He used an oval piece rising up from the center to do so.

After examining it, Blondel noted it wasn’t a Gallic ceramic. It was rather a small glazed cup with a clear glass object sticking out of it.

Blondel describes discovery of 200-year-old message as a “magical” moment

As per Blondel the clear glass piece was a small and flat one consisting of a small glazed cup that contained a clear glass object sticking up out of it. Blondel noted that Feret would continue with his investigations in the Cité de Limes or Caesar’s Camp , which is a vast area.

As per data, Feret had conducted the dig around 200 years ago. Blondel called the moment as “magical”. “We knew there had been excavations here in the past, but to find this message from 200 years ago… it was a total surprise.

Sometimes you see these time capsules left behind by carpenters when they build houses. But it’s very rare in archaeology . Most archaeologists prefer to think that there won’t be anyone coming after them because they’ve done all the work!” he said.

Apart from this, the oldest message in a bottle ever found was 131 years and 223 days old.

Göbekli Tepe and Pompeii stand out as iconic archaeological discoveries

Other archaeological projects around the world include the Göbekli Tepe in Turkey. It is referred to as one of the oldest temple complex and dates back to around 9600 BCE.

One of the most unique feature of this project is it consists of massive stone pillars appearing in circles, and is believed to be a spiritual site.

Apart from this, another famous archaelogical site is in Pompei, Italy. As per research Pompeii was buried under volcanic ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Currently, ongoing excavations have revealed an extraordinary snapshot of Roman life, with well-preserved buildings, frescoes, and artifacts that provide insights into daily activities, social structures, and Roman engineering.

At no point does the article actually share what the message was. Clickbait waste of time.
