Known for her calm style to bagging a silver in the Paris Olympics, South Korean shooting star Kim Yeji has become a deadly assassin in an upcoming web series.

In July, the 32-year-old woman won a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event.

Her composed demeanor, wire-rimmed shooting glasses, and baseball cap made her an instant hit on the internet.

As videos of her shooting went viral, she garnered attention from celebrities such as entrepreneur Elon Musk.

“She should be cast in an action movie. No acting required!” Musk wrote on his social media platform X then.

    Deadly Assassin

Praised for her confidence and style during the Olympics this year, Yeji will now play an assassin in a series called Crush.

The series is a spinoff of the global film project “Asia,” as Asia Lab, the Korean entertainment company, stated on its official social media account.

Kim Yeji is set to play an assassin in Crush alongside Indian actor and influencer Anushka Sen.

Sen shared the announcement on her Instagram last week. She posted a video showing her dressed in black leather, struggling with a pistol until Kim walked in and adjusted her stance.

“So happy to collaborate with [Kim], Olympic silver medalist; the most popular Korean shooter in the world,” Sen wrote. She confirmed the two would star together in a “global project.”

Asia Lab is excited to witness “the potential synergy that will arise from Kim Yeji and Anushka Sen’s new transformation into a killer duo.”

    Olympic shooter

Kim Yeji became a social media sensation during the Olympics , gaining numerous new fans.

While Kim won the silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol women’s event, her skill and unique style also captured attention.

She sported futuristic steampunk-esque glasses and exuded a fierce demeanor propelling her to internet fame.

Some social media users praised her effortless confidence, while others compared her to James Bond and the sorcerer Satoru Gojo in the popular manga Jujutsu Kaisen.

While her popularity soared at the Paris Olympics, a recently unearthed clip of her performance at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in Azerbaijan this past May initially sparked her viral fame.

In it, Kim is wearing a backward cap, a sharp bob, glasses, and a signature stone-cold glare.

According to Yonhap News, after the event, during which she broke the world record in the women’s 25m pistol, she told reporters there was “nothing to improve” before Paris.

“I don’t feel any pressure at all,” she told reporters. “My confidence comes from a reason. It’s confidence based on a foundation.”

Kim joined a South Korean talent agency in August to help manage her activities. She was then featured in a Louis Vuitton magazine photoshoot.

The agency announced its plan to leverage Kim’s popularity by creating short-form content to increase her visibility in international markets.

The agency stated that Kim might make appearances in films or TV series to help promote the sport of shooting.

During a joint press conference for South Korean medalists in Paris on August 4, Kim said she had not given any thought to appearing in any films and would only focus on her craft as a shooter.
