Traverse City, Michigan, USA – July 19, 2024 – Quentin Judge (USA) and HH Medarco PS started the Traverse City Horse Shows (TCHS) season with a win during opening week of the TCHS Spring Series. They returned to familiar territory on Friday when leading off the victory gallop in the $32,000 Elk Rapids Marina Welcome CSI 3* during the third week of the summer’s Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), presented by B&D Builders, at Flintfields Horse Park.

Workers plugging old, methane-leaking orphan oil and gas wells across Michigan
BOYNE FALLS, MI – The pungent odor of brine wafted across an old well site in eastern Charlevoix County as workers pumped hundreds of gallons of concrete deep underground. An oil field crew used heavy machinery to slide a metal plug 1,250 feet below ground and seal off an old brine disposal well. As they backfilled the hole with concrete, the freshly mixed material displaced the saltwater that rose to the surface.
